Speaking of Angels...

This little angel is now one year old! I can't believe how the time has gone by! Our little Noah is the best little boy in the world! He and his mama have been living with us since late spring and we've had a blast with him. Noah started to crawl on our 27th anniversary and now has taken off walking! We recently took him on a trip to Florida and he loved it there! I took him for walks in the stroller every morning then it was off to the pool for some splashing fun in the sun.
It just amazes me how fast this year has flown by. I am wondering where summer went. I know it will be Christmas before I know it...It always seems to just creep up on me. I am trying to get ready early and I've got to be creative with gifts, because this year money is pretty tight. I've become a very thrifty shopper over the past year and I am now in love with finding bargains at thrift stores and garage sales. Last summer I went to garage sales every Thursday and Friday and I found Noah all sorts of nearly new toys for just a few dollars. I even found some really nice pieces of furniture and some clothes from my favorite store - Chicos! What fun!
I guess that's all for now.

Angelic Project

I've been working on a lot of craft projects lately and this is one I think turned out really well. I found this beautiful angel at the Goodwill store and while I thought she was beautiful, she had some odd star cutouts on her dress that I didn't think looked right. I figured out she was originally a votive, but, I repurposed her into a beautiful figurine. I added roses where the stars were, loaded her with extra fine glitter, and added some feathers to her wings and a strand of pearls around her neck. She is now sitting on my nightstand near my little Molly dog's urn and she is really pretty! The picture really doesn't do her justice as the glitter is just not all that visible. She really glows and sparkles. I may eventually add her to a wreath I'm working on, but, for now I just love looking at her whenever I'm in my bedroom. She really is a wonderful addition to all the other angel figurines I've collected. There is just something about angels...
